Includes a professional restoration clean that will restore all surfaces back to their best possible condition ready for sealing. The area is then sealed with your choice of sealer depending on your needs and requirements. Sealing your shower provides protection from staining and discolouration, making it easier to clean and maintain.
How it Works Service begins with a specialised system of cleaning and treatment that will return all desired surfaces to their best possible condition, removing any discolouration from the surfaces themselves as well as within the grout lines. Once the surface is cleaned, it will be sealed with your selected choice of sealer. Sealing your tiles and grout creates a moisture barrier that is water resistant. By making the surface water resistant it becomes less prone to mould growth, grime and efflorescence build up.
If your tiles are pre-sealed or do not require sealing, then we will only seal the grout lines between the tiles.
Types of Sealers
Penetrating Sealers
A penetrating impregnating sealer will enter the pores of the surface without altering it's texture. The surface will be breathable, moisture repellent and resistant to staining, without altering the slipperiness of the surface.
Topical Sealers
A topical sealer is a film/coating that sits on top of the surface and is very popular with surfaces such as vinyl/linoleum and even old slate and terracotta flooring. This is NOT suitable for shower areas as they make the floors slippery when wet.
To maintain the look and slip resistance of your surfaces and to prevent damaging moisture from being trapped within the tiles, we recommend sealing with a penetrating sealer.
Sealer Choices
- DeepShield Colour Enhancing Penetrating Sealer (10 year lifetime) - DeepShield Gold Transparent Penetrating Sealer (15 year lifetime)
Extra Charges The cost of the service may be affected by the type of sealer selected for the surface.
Showers are considered a high impact area and therefore have set prices. Instructions We require that all areas for cleaning are cleared for our arrival, and that you have moved away as much of the furniture as possible. Important Information - Sealed surfaces usually need a minimum of 4 hours to be touch dry before being walked on. - Sealed surfaces should not get wet until the sealer has fully cured, this can take up to 24 hours after sealing, this should be taken into consideration when sealing outdoor areas. - You must wait for the sealer to fully cure before testing the sealer or carrying out any cleaning.
